I'm a writer, reader, and story lover from North Carolina. I'm the author of Animal Eyes and Other Stories and a contributor to the anthology, Wicked South: Secrets and Lies. I am currently querying my adult thriller set in the Great Smoky Mountains.

What writing leaders are saying...
DeVido's instincts as a writer are sharp and refined. She moves characters through space really confidently, and her descriptions of setting are wonderful.
These stories are tragically beautiful. The characters are easy to connect to and stay connected to them as the story progresses.
This was a super interesting story from its opening through to its final moments. While she names horror as the genre she's writing within, there's a lot more sophisticated and literary intentions to the piece than that suggests. Writing is strong, vivid imagery, and she continues the connections she introduces at the start.
